Some people have favourite designers, artists, composers – I think I have a favourite tomato breeder! I’d fallen for Baby Bottle and Yellow Pear in a big way – they are such endearing shapes and lovely bright hues (although my tomato crush is based on looks alone as I’ve yet to have the opportunity to taste one) but didn’t know anything more about them or that they were “connected”. Until I found them both on the same website – California Hybrids. They seem to be the work of one man, Dr Kanti, who clearly has great “taste” when it comes to creating a pin-up tomato !
