Bacon,Lettuce,Tomato Sandwich

A porker's purpose

Some might say a B****y, Long, Time coming !

Or veggies might say:  yuck, no thank you.

Truth is I’m not the biggest bacon fan. I was veggie for a long time, the wrong time . Choice was any variation on omelette ( hold the ham ) and the eggs wouldn’t have been free range  so the hens weren’t impressed and although I tried my hand at vegetarian styled food ( Crank’s spinach, chickpea, yoghurt stew ) I eventually just ended up eating meals without the meat.

Kebab: that’ll be salad and chilli sauce in a pitta then.

In the end I fell off the haywain ( mini sausages with a mustard honey dip; starchy drinks reception ) and whilst I still eat spinach, yoghurt and chickpeas, it’s only when they pitch up on my plate with something a little less earnest than each other .

And so back to bacon, which I still tend to ignore most of the time, EXCEPT in a sandwich, where it excels.

Especially when joined by mayo, lettuce and tomato in that worthy collective, A BLT.
