No need to keep 700 asses to provide milk for her daily dip – instead a heavenly tomato patch would have kept her in both sarnies and eternal youth.
A new range of products – and yes – it really is called ‘Yes to Tomatoes’ has, through a generous gift (thanks, C) found its way onto my bathroom shelves.
The last time I loved a product this much was sometime in the 70′s when Avon made a peach bubble bath, the cap of which was a very cute peach. So much did I love it I refused to actually use it but would carefully unscrew the peachy top and sniff deeply before replacing it. I can still recall the distress caused by finding it had eventually given up the bubble with the peach cracking down one side and the contents congealed.
So I intend to take a Life is Short approach to ‘Yes To Tomatoes’ and whilst waiting for mine to ripen will, in Egyptian Queenly style, indulge daily in all this tomatoeyness.

I’ve been so busy keeping an eye on my first ever Yellow Brandywine, slowly swelling in size and now being joined by enough siblings to take away my fears it might drop off, and I’ve not really been paying enough attention to your wonderful blog.
Tell us more – do they smell of tomatoes? Do you smell of tomatoes after using them? Do people compliment you on such a fragrance, or do people look at you askance, much as they do when I’ve doused myself in Diptyque’s Philosykos fig-based fragrance?
I’m very excited to hear you have a whole family of Yellow Brandywines ! What a great variety to have success with.
I have to say they and therefore I, don’t smell of tomatoes ! It does smell very nice – sort of soft and sweet – and the list of ingredients in the shower gel runs to things like red pepper extract and green tea extract as well as tomato, watermelon and rosemary ! So no looking askance – I’ve not smelt the Diptyque fig fragrance but if it’s anything like their candles it will be wonderful !
