Double Truss

by Sally on June 25, 2010

More moments of discovery today. Including these multi-trusses. I’m sure last year my plants stuck to a more traditional ‘ straight off the stem, all in a row’ style of truss. This, they seem to be ‘branching out’ and striking off in different directions. If it means more tomatoes, then this ‘double yolk ‘ approach is fine with me :

That’s interesting, i haven’t noticed that amongst my plants. Perhaps yours are responding to the warm weather. My vine plants have grown plenty of sideshoots though, which I’ve mostly removed except where they’ve got flowers on.

The Clone’s first offspring seems to be ripening… :-)

For early sowers these 2 weeks of sunshine must be perfectly timed to bring out all that colour ! I am still at green – but keep saying green is good – and red will be wonderful ! Glad to here that the offspring are on their way to ripening !

Thanks, Sally :-) But it seems I was a little enthusiastic with that posting, and I thought one fruit was colouring up. It isn’t yet, but its green skin is lightening, so soon… :-)
