For the past few days the world has looked all the more beautiful for being bathed in sunshine ( well at least my corner of it). Catch the sun at the right moment and it could be Summer.
But the trees and leaves tell a different story and more wild and wooly weather is round the corner.
So today I thought I’d make something which captures the cusp of both seasons. The flavours belong to summer but the aroma and warmth of home baking belong to autumn.
The recipe is from Delia. It claims to make 12 scones but I could only fashion 9 from my dough.
Not that it matters – I just didn’t want you to look at the photo, see less than Delia’s dozen and think I’d been scone scoffing ahead of photo taking duties.
