In terms of aesthetic formation, uniformity and perfect spacing I can’t help thinking this lot would give synchronised swimmers or the Red Arrows a run for their blue space displays. They’re pretty perfect ! Judgements on colour and taste will come in time but so far I’ve enjoyed growing this varieties.
Belriccio is perhaps the most dishevelled (perhaps his nose clip is giving him gip) where as Santorage is teardrop forming perfect – dix points for elegance. Which is also the name of the only grafted variety not yet in truss formation. Elegance has some catching up to do to having sustained an early season injury. Dasher is perhaps the most straightforward and I like the double, groaning under the weight truss of Conchita. It’s probably the inclusion of Dasher but somehow this list makes me think of Father Christmas and reindeer – or maybe it’s just the thought of all these lovely tomatoes in waiting feels like Christmas come early !
