There was a “firmish” frost this morning – but this photo was taken yesterday and the flowers and green fruit were most definitely there – not the healthiest of plants – but hanging on regardless. The photo to show the gorgeous blue sky above is a wonderful calendar contrast to last year when it was all snow clouds overhead and drifts and ice underfoot! Will the real November please stand up?

So strange to see tomatoes in the UK at the start of winter looking the same as mine in Perth at the start of summer. Climate change sceptics take note.
Still taking fruit off the hanging baskets here in Yorkshire. They have ripened to orange and turn nicely once taken in. Yes, it’s December. Haven’t visited for a while and am delighted that all is still going strong blogwise.
I think winter proper has just arrived – a little late but definitely chilly – and the sound of frost being scrapped off cars this morning as I left the house – so we are going to hand summer firmly over to you from now on!
It must be the first time that hanging baskets offering tomatoes – and Christmas trees appearing for sale – have coincided – especially in Yorkshire!!
Those ripening fruit will make perfect baubles for the tree!
