With a few red ones now appearing it's beginning to be real, I might actually get to eat a tomato I've grown from seed - amazing ! At the moment I've lots of green fruit, the beefsteak variety look really impressive. I've stopped all my plants now and taken a leaf out of your book (and off my plants) and given them a good pruning - I had allowed them to 'ramble' too much which nearly led to disaster..... It was windy the other week and 2 plants suffered split branches, I thought I'd lost the fruit they were bearing but undeterred I hoisted them back into place with some string and they've not skipped a beat.
