Growing Tomatoes. Week 24.

Week 24

If there was sound to go with this picture it would be the wind gusting and whipping up the tall trees that form a screen at the back of the garden.  A sensitive microphone might also pick up the thump and thud of an agitated, jewel green iguana jumping round his enclosure. I’ve no idea where iguanas hail from but perhaps it’s windless or empty of entities that rustle in the wind. Or perhaps he’s being driven crazy by the aroma of tomatoes being blown over the fence.  But something is driving him to act out Iguana on a hot tin roof.  He’s not mine. He appeared today in the garden next door and was gone again a few hours later.

Why the talk of iguanas and not tomatoes ?

I’ve been away for a few days and so my neighbours ( the non iguana airing ones) have been looking after the garden and hopefully enjoying the last of the August tomatoes so there’s not so much to update.

The garden looks a bit bereft in today’s shot. I’ve taken a lot of leaves off and it makes me realise how bare the garden will be again once the tomato season ends. There are still plenty of fruit to ripen but a chill in the air and longer shadows that says they will need to get a move on !

These were the tomatoes I enjoyed last week.
