This week was blessed with lots of early September sun, stopping the garden from looking quite as sad as it might. Weeding and general tidying is called for. But when, the sun is shining and the fruit feels warm to the touch all is well with the world.
A few tomato plants have been dispatched, 3 Red Robins. My least favourite variety ( though the slugs loved them) and when I noticed dark patches on the stems, that was it – fate sealed. So along with a Tumbler (the vine/fruit of which you can see cut off and ripening on the table ) they are no more.
I’m assuming it was blight – but maybe not – it’s been dry and the other plants seem to be ok.
Some of the determinate plants are reaching the end of their fruit.
Slightly more pictures than usual but as all too soon there will be none indulgence seems justified !
