I had to go back through all previous sandwich posts to double check as I couldn’t quite believe it could be the case. But seems it could.
No Hummus.
Which is odd. As I eat it a lot. Usually sticking to plain or lemon & coriander as most other new combinations seem like random fridge magnet, shopping list, shuffling pairings courtesy of the marketing department as opposed to something you’d want to introduce pitta to.
So here it is combined with tomato, ensconced in flatbread, ready for messy, chin dribbling, finger licking, demolition.
Before I tuck in I have to tell you there’s something unique about today’s sandwich. The hummus and flatbread are homemade, the tomatoes home grown.
It’s not something I could say about most of the things I eat.
It was a thought that struck me after a delicious, home cooked lunch, in which nearly every single ingredient and dish was home grown and home made ( thanks L&M).
And so inspired, though on a much smaller scale, I’m proud that the last of this years’ home grown tomatoes are being dispatched in proper homemade style.

since when did you start becoming a domestic goddess?! i’m very impressed that you’re baking flatbreads … why haven’t we had a lunch invite?! Looks very enticing.
Glad you’re impressed ! I’ve discovered I like the simple act of sieving flour – who knew !?! So anything that involves a bit of sieving and a bit of mixing is now something I’m happy to have a go at.
