Is this what June is supposed to be like ?

As the rain descended in vertical fringes from grey skies, I looked up ’ Flaming June’ to see if such a month ever existed.

Turns out ‘Flaming June‘  is a painting. A beautiful, bold, colour saturated picture. A thousand Marigolds made dress.

But not it would seem a meteorological happening.

Does that makes it better or worse ?

I always thought ‘Flaming June’ was an expression of frustration about the weather. Indeed, the ‘Flaming June’ in the picture looks much more desirable that the weather today. Don’t despair though, it’s supposed to be good tomato-growing weather for the rest of the week.

BTW, I think you’d enjoy reading Rebsie Fairholm’s gardening blog, ‘Daughter of the Soil’. She’s an amateur plant breeder, and grows tomatoes. Search out her posts on F1 hybrids – very interesting.

Thank you for pointing me in the direction of ‘Daughter of the Soil’ – hopped over to have a look and enjoyed reading all the tomato variety reviews and will go back to read all the tomato entries and more. Great resource . And will also be reading all about the acquisition of the greenhouse !
