One of the (many) things I’ve got wrong this year and which I’ve already made endless resolutions to get right next, is labelling.
As a result of my label laxness, I’ve got bush tomatoes sharing pots with 6ft spirals and tall cordons running out of support at 4ft of bamboo. All the wrong way round.
And yet……. whilst it’s brought problems it’s also brought enjoyable surprises. I’d forgotten I’d been given, crumpled from the back of a kitchen drawer, a packet of Roma Seeds and I’d sown a couple.
A couple of bushy looking plants were growing away and I’d mentally filed them under Garden Pearl. However now they have fruit I think they’re Romas . This discovery of a forgotten sowing has added yet another layer of pleasure to the growing process.
So whilst I do need to label, label, label, maybe it would also be fun to have a mystery few which only reveal their true identity come fruiting time.
