At the moment it’s mostly about leaves ! Lush, green and very pretty when ruffling gently in the breeze but I’d like more fruit please.
Now nearly everything has a place to call home it’s sun what we need….today’s been glimmers of gloriousness but overwritten by dollops of dullness.
Here are the newly appointed, just waiting to get going. These 3 towering beauties are on loan, adding a touch of class the grow bags can’t quite eliminate. It’s an experiment and I hope the plants enjoy climbing up them – perhaps it’ll be a race to the top.
And then these are in pots which are undersized and in a position which doesn’t get enough sun. But I liked all the terracotta and brickwall’ness of it all. It felt like heritage gardening but without going as far as to swap my jean’s belt for a length of baler twine.

Your plants are looking very nice and healthy now. My stragglers are still inside; I don’t think they’ll do much now.
Growing tomato plants up pyramids is an interesting idea, although they might have identity crises and think they’re runner bean plants…
Happy Solstice; it’s all downhill from here.
The pyraminds were a bit of a response to finding a sturdy enough support for plants in growbags. Last year the canes kept wobbling as they weren’t secured deep into ground. Runner beans would probably look pretty up them but we’ll see if the tomatoes can cope with some Eiffel Toweresqueness !
At least the sun has come out today – just passed the half way mark- but for the nearly longest evening to be a sunny one is very welcome !
