I picked this tomato today. Two fruit, one calyx.

I’ve no idea how common this is but as someone who pleaded to be allowed to stay up to watch ‘That’s Life’;  a show which found outsized mirth in viewer’s misshapen veg I felt nostalgia bound to take and post a photo.

Very blowy again today but with sun rather than the heavy rain of yesterday so a good day to step out and have a tomato tidy. Lots of sideshoots to be nipped off and a few flowers still coming through, especially on Roma. After spending so much time willing the tomato plants on, it’s hard to ‘vandalize’ them but it has to be done.

However the Sungold which has upped and over the fence to next door, a variety with wanderlust, I have left to continue its journey.  What it lacks in foresight it makes up for in spirit, so I couldn’t bring myself to snip off its yellow, pollen filled promises which our weather will ensure it can never deliver on.
